Jack Hoque is a fulltime jeweler and lapidary artist based out of southern Oregon. His interest in gems and minerals first sparked 5 years ago after a trip to the crater rock museum in central point Oregon. He learned how to cut and polish rocks in a lapidary workshop in the back of the museum. After 3 years of trial and error in his crafts, he sought help and found an apprenticeship with a jewelry store called Jacksonville Gems and Jewelry where he first met his mentor Jakkarin Iamnok (A.K.A. Bee). Jack has been a fulltime artist since May of 2017, and plans on forever expanding and learning his crafts.
I love Oregon Sunstone because of how incredibly diverse the colors can be especially when accented by copper schiller phenomenon! Copper-bearing Oregon Sunstone in my opinion is some of the very best gem quality material you can find in the United States. The colors that can be found in this rare American gemstone are some of the most beautiful and most diverse in the entire gemstone kingdom. It's no wonder this material is a chosen favorite to many masters.
